Rift Guide

What is Rift?

Immortal Rift is a guild vs guild event on Saturday evenings from 20:00-22:00 depending on the level of battlefield. The levels include LV1 (100v100), Lv2 (60v60) and Lv3 (30v30).

Although it involves a lot of pvp, there is also some pve in it, and that is what wins rift.

Placing Markers

From Monday at 22:00 until Tuesday at 22:00, guild leaders can go to the rift lord and place three markers on territories. These markers help open up territories for bidding, and influence the statue that can bid on them. If the winning marker on a territory is Hydrus, then the Hydrus guilds can bid for a rift in that territory. If the guild does not hold territory, they can put a marker on any of the territories open to their statue. If the guild holds territory, they may only place markers on territory adjacent to the land that they hold.

Bidding for Rift

Each guild that wishes to participate that does not already hold a territory must bid for a battlefield at Ares the Rift Lord on Thursday evening before it closes some time between 21:30 and 22:00. When it closes depends on the bidding activity. Guilds that hold territory from last week's rift are automatically enrolled in the next week to defend their territory.

A guild can only bid on a territory that is not opposing their own statue/deity. A guild leader can change the statue/deity of the guild, but it will not take effect until after the new statue has been built and weekly reset has occurred. The deity points for the guild remain even though the statue/deity changes.

The funds for rift bidding come from the guild reserve fund and any funds won from the rift are added to the guild reserve funds.

How do I participate?

Any person in the guild that is at least lv50 and has been in the guild 72hrs (before the territory bidding is opened for the week) or longer before rift starts may participate.

Although a combat mount and license is not required, they are recommended. You can buy a short term license in rift from one of the npcs if you forget to get a license.

Please read how rift is done and ask any questions you may have well in advance of attending rift as it is extremely difficult for people to guide you through it once the battle has started.

You will need to talk to Ares next to the Alexander in Twilight Hall. You can be on any realm, however meeting on the same realm as your party allows for you to buff while waiting for the battle to open.

Forum Image
This is Ares back in Freedom Harbor days.

Choose the correct Battlefield from the Battlefields tab - look for the one that says your guild's name if your guild has a rift. If your guild did not win a rift or doesn't own a territory, you may still be able to enter an open rift. An open rift is a territory battle that had not received a bid. The rift will be open to any guild member from a guild that owns a statue other than the one that the defending guild has. (If the defending guild is Hydrus, and your guild is Hydrus, you cannot participate in that open rift 😟 )

Once you click Enter, you will be ported to the battlefield.

Once inside:

Take the quests from the npcs inside. There should be three quests altogether.

Gather with your party and find out what refinery and mine(s) you plan to go after first. Wait at the appropriate gate until it opens and you can get to the refinery.

Stick together!

The battlefield is laid out like this. Blue base is the defending guild, red base is the attacking guild. You can access this during rift by opening your map.

Objective:

Each guild has a base with 350 durability. Each guild will try to lower the durability of the other guild's base. The first base lowered to 0 loses.

To lower the durability, your guild must collect crystals from the refineries to power up your cannon to fire on your opponent. In order to produce crystals, your team must occupy a refinery until it is captured by your guild. You can also occupy a mine to produce even more crystals. The more members you have in an area, the faster you will capture the area.

On this map you will see what looks like a cluster of crystals. Each of these is a checkpoint that you must bring your cart to once you have it - you only need to bring it to the two check points in the north or the south, depending on which refinery you got your cart from. You can click on them on the map to auto route :)

In addition to getting crystals back to your base to power your cannon, you can attack your opponent's two towers directly to lower their shield and increase your cannon's effectiveness.

How to get crystals:

Once you have a mine and refinery captured, you will see a cart station appear (the glowing blue thing pictured here). Hover your cursor over it until you see a hand, then click to receive the cart. You will also receive a speed skill that you shoul attach to your quick bar.

Once you are in the cart, you will be able to take a lot of damage, so just keep moving. Find your checkpoint on the map and click to go to it - OR use the autoroute in the quest you get with the cart.

Once at the checkpoint, talk to the npc and go to the next checkpoint.

You can also collect Rare Cryolite that  spawns in middle of the battlefield. There is a quest for this as well; however, it is hard to find and risky to get as there are a lot of people trying to kill you as you collect.

Captured Mine - Auto-delivers crystals at a rate of about 1 per minute.
Rare Cryolite delivery- 5 crystals
Cart delivery - 15 crystals

Teleporting in rift:
There's a big crystal at each end of the field. Choose "Mark Teleport site"/ "Start Teleporting". Once you mark the crystal, you can transport back to it by talking to teleporter Marlow in your base. Very useful for repeatedly attacking the towers.

Rift end:
When rift ends, you will see an announcement stating that your guild won or lost. There will be about 5 more minutes to finish your quests before you will be automatically transported out of the instance. There is no trackstone or npc teleporter that can take you out of the instance. If you would like to leave early, you will have to use your town portal or log out.

Rift reward ceremony:
After all the rifts are done and the scores have been tabulated by the game, there will be a guild chat announcement letting the guild know how much their guild received from participating in the rift. The fund go into the reserves. Only after this announcement can the guild leader go to the altar to activate the rift reward ceremony. The guild leader is the only one that can activate this. These npcs go dormant for a period of time starting at 23:00 Sunday. If the guild leader wants to ensure that the ceremony is started in the week the rift was run, they should start it before then. If they don't start the ceremony by that time, they can still open it after reset, however guild members can only collect the waiter rewards once a week. So, to make sure that the members get the maximum rewards, it's important to open this ceremony before weekly reset!

To activate the ceremony, the guild leader needs to go to the altar area in base and talk to one of the four rift rewards npcs: 1st place rewards, 2nd place rewards, 3rd place rewards, and 4th place rewards.  Only one will be have the Open active - whichever place the guild got for rift. Once the guild leader talks to the npc, they receive a bundle of goods which includes combat licenses and flux boxes. A waiter will appear. Guild members 50+, regardless if they attended rift or not, can receive the rewards from this waiter. Once the member takes the rewards, they will receive 10 mins of great exp by staying near the statue! These rewards are only available for 30 mins, so it's important to hurry!

Taking the rewards from the waiter are solo-based, meaning that one person taking rewards does not affect another's ability to get rewards. So take the rewards! Also, by taking the rewards, you receive guild points and add to the guild's financial points by 30! Even if you don't stay for the exp or don't need the pots the waiter has, taking them helps the guild build up some financial points - especially if we're collecting that week!

All guilds that had a winning bid for a rift territory war, regardless if they won the actual war, are eligible to receive these rewards.

Win rewards:
If the guild also won their rift, in addition to gaining a territory, the guild leader can talk to the altar to receive a special reward. Most of the time it is advanced runes. Sometimes it is a purple piece of gear of a random class. The guild leader cannot talk to the altar while the ceremony is active.

Highlights of Dysil Expansion

Some of the things we have found in the new expansion:
[newly updated 12/16/13]

Guild Base/Quests
Enigma has built the Jeweler construction and Dragon Tower. The Jeweler allows you to buy things for your jewelry job. The Dragon Tower is a raid that allows up to 18 people to join, all are in one party, and they can be non-guild members. FYI - the dragon is tough. really tough.

We are in the process of building the riding camp building in our base. This will give you quests that will help level your riding abilities.

Extract scrolls can now be bought from Lawrence with guild merit and no longer requires additional trade gold.

There are many new quests that you can do weekly in the guild base that give you quite a bit of soul gold. They mostly consist of talking to the npc until he gives you the money :P

The cashier in base now gives you soul gold based on the amount of contribution you have. As you contribute more, he will offer more soul gold - so keep checking him throughout the week.

The guild base quests will now give you a variety of other materials upon completion as well as the gem box. Guild base load stones are quite common.

Pets
Your pet will auto-call when landing from flying if you had it out before you took off.

Your pet auto-calls when you start combat assist, but if you recall it, it stays in.

Pets can no longer receive Dragon Power buffs :(

There are mobs in the crucible that you can kill for exp and they drop nice pet goodies :)

Guide Quests
The guide quests for many of the quests have been reset and will offer you soul leaves upon completion. And some of them you don't even need to have completed - I was never an apprentice and can no longer be one due to my level, but it still gave me the soul leaves for the quest. Click the book above your map circle to receive a quest to complete.

The guide quests can no longer be taken directly from the book in the H menu. There is a little book in a bar that tends to sit above the map (although this bar is moveable). The guide quests come in order as you click the book. You can have more than one open guide quest, but you must have enough bag space. quest space, be the right level, and complete any of the prerequisite quests first.

Audience with the King quest for vice/virtue doesn't show up until after the First Kill quest. Some people think that you have to complete the First Kill quest in order to get the King's quest, but I have gotten the King's quest on 3 characters without completing the First Kill quest at all (two of those chars had never even been to arena, ever). Two of these chars were in their 70s and one was in their 60s - so level doesn't seem to matter either. Some are saying that their book goes away after they get the First Kill quest. I had that same thing happen with one of them, but later the book appeared. I am not sure what triggered its reappearance. It may have been from completing a main quest or one of the existing guide quests the char had opened. I do know that completing the First Kill quest will also bring the book back and let you continue; so if you are really stuck, you should be able to continue your guide quests after completing that quest. You do not need to personally make the kill in arena, you just need to be alive when one of your party kills someone. Sometimes letting the other party know that you need one for that quest helps :)

Soul Leaves
Prayer can give soul leaves!

Masha will have soul leaves for you depending on how many achievements you have completed.

You only have to reach 120 dedication in a week to get 100 soul leaves from Shylia Market! And you still get the 300 soul leaves if you get 240 ded.

General
You can get Love Tokens from the wedding manager without being married by completing his daily quest.

There are two new skill scrolls that you can get for priests for wineglasses and soul gold from the npc in Sleeping Jungle - Angelic Harmony 1 and Sympathy 2!!!!

Your soulforce trinket is now upgradeable by feeding materials to it. The materials - gloop - come from getting kills in arena.

There is a Lionheart Training Camp where you can get a weapon that you can build up instead of having to trade in for a new weapon as you level.

You can get 14 day fashion and mount from a guy near the arena manager. There is also a guy in Nightfall that will give these to you.

You will use the trackstones while autorouting if it creates a shorter route.

This will be updated as new things are discovered, so check back :)

LCS Daybreaker

Level: 60+
Location: T party menu What Passes for Fate grouping
Number of entries: unlimited
Late entry: no

This instance takes place on a boat with two side boats. If your party is mostly below 70, you will have trouble completing the whole boat - you will want to do left wing only. Although you can get in at 60, you will see many parties asking for 70+ or 75+ only. This is to ensure that they have a party for full boat. If you do the full boat, and you get enough points, you can turn them in immediately for a scroll box that produces a random blue or purple skill scroll.

I recommend having a party with two healers; if something happens to one, you have a backup.

The faster you kill the mobs that show up, the more courage pts your party will get. These courage pts are what you turn in to Charlotte at the end for the extra rewards. Pets can steal kills, so it may be advisable to not use the pets on the mobs at all.

I have had good experience with killing the mobs further up the boat, close to where they spawn, rather than attacking them from near the bridge.

When the boss comes, you want to be amongst the crates at the front of the boat. The hits from the boss are not as hard if you stand there.

As soon as the left side is done, run to the right side and repeat.

When the right side is done, you will fight mobs on the main boat. It is very important that no one have any pets out during this fight. The pets can either keep the mobs trapped under the ship not allowing your party to attack them - OR, they can aggravate the mobs so much that their attack increases and your party starts to wipe. It doesn't happen all the time, but really not worth taking the chance; and once it starts, it is hard to reverse.

If you have at least 2600 courage pts after this middle boat battle, you should have enough at the end for a scroll box!

Once these middle mobs are done, and you see the announcement for the main boss, run to the front of the main boat. Do not attack the boss until everyone is in position. The boss will not attack until he is attacked. Anyone not amongst the crates can die pretty easy and ressing after that is hard.

If you do die during this last part, have the person who has aggro turn the boss so that he is attacking across the ship.  Ressurect and run to the side ship to hp up. Run along the side of the main boat to the front of the ship.

Each death reduces the number of courage pts your party receives, so it's best that no one dies.

Once the main boss is dead, you can go back to where you entered the boat and find Charlotte. She will have rewards that you can buy with your pts from that run. you need 4200 for a blue skill scroll and 4400 for a purple skill scroll. If you don't have enough for a skill scroll, I recommend getting the soul gem box. They are unbound after opening and can be sold in AH. Use up all your pts as they are lost once you leave.

There is also an npc on this boat that offers skill boosters that you can purchase with courage pts. These do help somewhat, but their real benefit is in the achievements that they can give you.

Guild Midas

Level: 60+
Requirement: must have 80 dedication and guild construction envelopes
Location: guild base
Duration: 1 hour
Reward: large chunk of soul power and exp, as well as trade gold for each envelope completed dependent on the amount of dedication that you have at the time

The event is fairly simple: during the time that the guild midas is activated, complete construction envelopes to get the extra rewards. The quests do not change from regular envelope quests, you just get an extra reward for doing them.

The Guild Leader or Interior Officer can open this event. It can only be done two times a week. The envelopes must be redeemed during the hour that the event is open to get the rewards.

We have chosen Friday at 23:30 to allow enough time in the week for people to get their 80 ded and the time allows for two days worth of envelopes to be done during the event as reset happens during the event and makes a new set of envelopes available.
Sunday at 16:00 was chosen as it is right after Astral Shine and it allows more people to participate due to it being during the day and the last day of the week when more people will be likely to have had an opportunity to have 80 ded.

New Guild Buildings Coming!!

Dysil’s Wrath: You must construct additional guild buildings!

By dreamdefender @ October 10, 2013 at 10:00am on the Forsaken World main page.

Just when you thought Guild Bases couldn't get any sweeter, we take it up a notch!Unknown Object There are several new Guild buildings that will be available in the upcoming content update: Dysil's Wrath.

Garden Satellite
For "green thumb" guilds that have a garden built, you will be able to access the Garden Satellite

This tiny planet allows botanists with a botany level of 6 or greater to harvest Magical Flowers and Alien Plants. As you may have guessed by their names, these are no average plants. Each harvest has a chance of yielding Soul Leaves or Fusion Gems.

Mineral Satellite
If a guild already loves all things earthy with a geology building already built, they will get access to the Mineral Satellite

On this satellite, miners can harvest special rocks which have a chance to award Fusion Gems, Star Shards, Star Fragments, and even Star Diamonds.

Riding Training Camp
Climbing onto your mount takes quite a while for the novice, but not for a properly trained rider! Once your guild builds this new structure, the Riding Training Camp, you can learn to shorten the casting time for mounts!

The Riding Trainer outside is just waiting for you. No really, just for you!

Gem Workshop
Once this new marvelous wonder is built, you can exchange Merit and Soul Gold for Jade Gold. Jade Gold can be used to purchase gemboxes up to Ghastly Flare Gembox Lv 3! Exchange lower level gemboxes for soul gold to buy even higher level gemboxes!

That little net must be for catching rare gems. It has to be… what else could it be for?

Dragon Tower
To enter the new instance, Dysil's Crux, first the Dragon Tower must be built. Team up together and ascend the levels of this tower for some great rewards. Once you have slain the dragons, return to the Dragon Tower Recruiter to exchange the loot for mounts, titles, and even legendary jewelry!

Work together with your guild mates, gather the resources, and construct additional buildings!

All this and more can be yours in Forsaken World: Dysil's Wrath!

Mounted Combat

[update: this quest has been available for a long time, but I'm leaving it here just in case ;)]

Mounted combat is useful for completing quests without dismounting. Although many think of it as a pvp thing, it is extremely useful in pve as well.

You can get this quest from one of the npcs in the upper level of the library in FH. This quest will direct you to Beastly Windfang.

Beastly will ask you to find the location of the Fighter Spirit in Emperor's Canyon (the actual place, not the instance), summon it, then defeat it within a given amount of time. Use your flying mount to save time.

The location of the fighter soul is just southwest of the LCS entrance (see the yellow arrow in the lower right corner of this map). Once you defeat him, use your flying mount to go back to Beastly on Bonechewer Path. There will be an autoroute to go back to him.

Beastly will give you the ancient blood for your efforts. You will need to unseal this in order to use it.

Once unsealed, you will bring this and your mount to the guy in FH. He will use the blood to make your mount a combat mount. The blood can only be used once, so be sure that you have the mount that you want.

Beastly will suggest that you get a mounted combat license from his brother. He will give you a quest that will autoroute you to Morin in the Sleeping Jungle.

Morin will send you looking for Beastly's brother, Drogan. There is an autoroute in the quest.

He will tell you he needs you to find Pansco.
Pansco will ask you to do a couple things for him. Once you have completed all of his tasks, he will give you the antidote for Myne, Drogan's dog.

Target Myne and right click the antidote in your bag. Myne may be in a bad mood afterwards and attack you, so be prepared. Once you have administered the remedy, Drogan will give you the combat license.

Welcome to the wonderful world of mounted combat! You can get additional licenses from Vanessa using mentor points. They may also be available as a reward for completing rift. You can also buy them from AH, players, and Eyrda Boutique.

Although the licenses do expire, your mount will be permanently combat ready - you only need to have a license to use this feature.

This concludes the last of the buildings available to us.
CONGRATULATIONS!! And great work :)

The only thing we have left is a support structure that requires 100 guild cores. If you get any guild cores from the attendance boxes that you would like to donate, please mail them to Savanbelegil.

Token Shop Is Closing!

If you have tokens left over in the Token Shop (look on your CoreConnect page on the Forsaken World website), you will want to spend them now. FW is closing down this shop and any unused tokens will be lost when they do. This was posted yesterday on their forum page:
The Core Connect Achievement system and Core Token Shop will be closing 30 days from today.

Why are the Achievement system and Core Token Shop closing?

We're going to be implementing a whole new, revamped Achievement system and Token Shop under our new platform, Arc!

What will happen to my Achievements and Tokens?

Unfortunately, those won't be carried over to our new system, and when these two systems are closed, those items will be lost! Be sure to spend any tokens you have within the next 30 days!

We'll have all new Achievements to earn and items to purchase under the new Arc platform!
Stay tuned, as we'll be adding these new features and more to Arc soon!

There are some really good items in that token shop, and even if you don't see anything in there that your character needs, there is an option to gift to a friend! So make use of those tokens!

Nightmare Revelry / Underworld Floater

Level: Unsure. The quest says that it is a level 80 quest, but I know a level 78 completed it (Hi Karlisson! xD )
Main Quest: you get Wisdom Fruit for freezing a job

I have to say that this quest gave me and a few other people quite the headaches. The quest is not easy to follow and can appear to just end suddenly. Also, some of the directions in the recipe are misleading. Hopefully these instructions will help you too.

Charon's fishing pole is needed to get this quest. You can get it form Mathieu in the SoO, just outside of Towerpush - I'm sure you ran into him while doing those lv30 quests but couldn't get the fishing pole from him because you needed persuade or intimidate to get it. You can borrow persuade or intimidate from someone who has it. Have them target you and use the skill, then talk to Mathieu.

Take the rod to Stone Depot and fish. You should eventually end up with an Underworld Floater - a green bottle. Open this to get the quest:  Gold Midas Parchment Tavern's Letter. This quest prompts you to go talk to Charlie. This quest is a yellow text quest!

Charlie will give you the Nightmare Revelry recipe and a Dream Boiler bowl. If you lose this bowl, you will have to abandon the quest and get another Underworld Floater to start over.

You need to go to the Great Tree Spirit trackstone in Lunagrant. Gazrot is in a little hollow to the southwest of the tree-- right below the dragonlings. He wants griffin meat. Go get him 10 of those and he'll give you  Superior Griffin Meat. You need to take this meat to the flies. They are near the griffins, almost directly west of the Great Tree. The flies will turn the meat into a "rotten jackal corpse" that is actually flies eggs. Pick it up. Go talk to Angeric just west of the Valley of Whispers trackstone .

Angeric will give you the Cinerary Casket, but you have to use persuade to get him to talk. He will tell you to get something from the graveyard. If you are not paying attention, it will appear that the quest dies here. Go up the hill directly behind Angeric behind the musoleum there is some sparkly earth. Dig. Bring the Evil Bone back to Angeric to get the casket.

For the next part, you need to have the fly egg and a piece of nightmare meat in your bag along with the casket. You can get the nightmare meat from nightmares near the griffins. You may need to be under a certain level for a realistic drop rate, so get a lowbie to help out :)

Right click the casket to start the brining process. The text in the quest says to pickle the meat for 10-13 mins. IGNORE THAT. As usual in Forsaken World, you can't always believe what you read. Instead, look for a buff that that looks like a knife and fork. It shows up when there is 2 minutes left on the brining, so be patient and keep paying attention. Open the casket when there is about 30-35 secs left of brining. If you lose the casket, Angeric will not give another one until you abandon the quest, get another Underwater Floater and wait until reset to start the quest over.

You will get Special Nightmare Meat. You right click the boiler in  your bag to start cooking the nightmare meat. There will be a large cooking pot that shows up next to you. Watch for the knife and fork buff again and click this pot next to you when there is 30-35 secs left. This will complete your quest.

If you click the boiler in your bag instead of the pot on the ground to finish the cooking, it may tell you that you have cooked the meat incorrectly and you will have to start the quest over...from the very beginning.

Thankfully Karl was able to crack this quest so that the rest of us could check it off our list!

Glistening Lowlands

Level: 40+
Location: Party apply (T)
Late entry: No

Glistening Lowlands is a fairly easy instance that gives a nice reward of gem boxes, jade gold, and 2 ded/fealty. It is part of the What Passes for Fate instance grouping. This is a guild quest for certain levels.

Getting a Party
  • Your party class makeup isn't that important, although it doesn't hurt to have a priest.
  • You should keep in mind that the mob levels are based on highest level party member.
  • The majority of the party should be near the same level and the rest a lower level.
  • I believe taking a lowbie gives you mentor points.
  • You can sometimes pick up extra people for your party by just queuing.

This instance has two stages. Your objective is to combine small crystals into bigger crystals and then meld them into the respectively colored even bigger crystals until the boss pops (20 big crystals in all), then kill the boss. Pretty simple, but there are somethings to keep in mind.
  • It's best to keep pets in for this instance as they can interfere with the crystals, even if you have them on idle.
  • Use your base attack to hit the crystals when moving them.
  • If your crystal seems to be going in the wrong direction, sometimes it helps to back away from the crystal, target it, then hit the hot key for the attack instead of clicking the crystal to attack.
  • You can combine any two color crystals to make a new crystal.
  • You do not need a certain number of any one kind of crystal to complete this.
  • Crystal eaters will appear and eat whatever crystals they can get their boney hands on. Someone should be in charge of killing these. They can be tough, so high dps or tank will do.
  • Low level chars and pets can increase the number of crystal eaters.
  • Crystal eaters will attack the boss, so if you want a little help taking him down, stop killing them near spawn time.
  • When you see that you have around 15 big crystals absorbed into their home crystals, stop using green crystals for combining and make at least one pure green crystal. Just leave this for when the boss appears.
  • Do not attack the boss until he has been fed a weakening crystal as he may not eat one after he rampages.
  • The best weakening crystal is green - I think this does an overall weakening; but blue cracks his armor, yellow makes him sick, red reduces his attack, and cyan works too. Purple is just useless to him.
  • You can tell when he has eaten a weakening crystal because he rampages.
  • Once you have fed the boss, you can take your pet out.
  • The small crystals will power up the boss, so why not have squishies and lowbies combine them into bigger crystals that can actually hurt the boss while the heavy hitters attack the boss?

Triple Threat Rewards Have Arrived!

All those henry quests you grumbled through are finally going to pay off! The rewards are coming via system mail, so check your mail.

7 days of 10 henries got you the flirt action. The guy ones either look like they are proposing or begging for forgiveness and the female ones are pretty much them hiding their face. Still, new actions are nice and they are pretty cool.

14 days of 10 henries got you the lotus hair. I have not seen either of these yet.

21 days of 10 henries got you the ultimate prize: Weapon W title. This title also grants you an added 50 attack! I have heard differing opinions as to whether you have to actually have the title on in order for this to take effect. It appears that the Hawk title granted you permanent increased accuracy after wearing the title once, so maybe this one will too. Update: The attack title is permanent, but now there is a difference in opinion as to whether it adds the stat upon opening the box or when you equip the title - so before opening the title, get a ss of your attack stat with your unopened title box also in the shot. If your attack stat does not increase 50 when you open the box nor when you equip the title, then put in a ticket.

If you were expecting a package and didn't get one, like me; or you have a problem with it in general, contact game support at support.perfectworld.com
I already put in my ticket.

Current common known issues with this reward:
  • The title is not increasing attack on some chars
  • The Flirt action is bumping off an action if  you have 11+ actions already (seems to really be affecting juggling)
  • Some people are not getting them - the gms say that the rewards are going out in stages and are still going out to players.
UPDATE: After a couple back and forths with support, they sent me a code to get my triple threat reward :)
And the attack adds when you first equip the title. Mine worked xD

Speed Leveling

Although I do not recommend leveling your character fast since you miss out on so much in the process; I know a lot of people really want to level fast. So here are some ways to zoom through those levels.

Main Quests
Frequency: variable
Although these can be long and tedious, they give lots of exp and gifts to help you as you level.

Lionheart Scrolls
Frequency: unlimited
These scrolls double the exp that you get from killing mobs. You can get these from Shylia Market, your guild (G menu and from the housing manager in base if you have one), and Eyrda Rewards. They also come randomly from prayer, Rio's study quest, and some other quests.

Dreamlands
Frequency: 5-10 each day
These potions give you instant exp. You can get them from Shylia Market, Eyrda Rewards, randomly from a variety of quests, your leveling box, and you can make them if you take the alchemy job.

Memory Berries
Frequency: 480 daily
You can pick these up from Shylia Market and get extra exp from killing monsters. These are also random drops from certain quests and GT trial rewards. You can also get these from killing certain monsters in the training grounds once you are 40.

Memory Lotuses
Frequency: ## daily
These give you extra exp while you are standing in the training area. You get a bunch when you use a meditation scroll/book. You can also get these from Shylia Market and killing certain monsters in the training grounds.

Godlike Glory quests (henries)
Frequency: 30 daily
Everyone in FW has a love/hate relationship with Henry. His quests give lots of exp and nice gifts, but his quests can be long or nearly impossible.

Luck Quests
Frequency: 5-7 daily
I usually pick up all the luck quests, just in case they are easy or are something that I was doing anyway. I don't necessarily go out of my way to complete them, but they do give good exp.World lucks give more exp than personal lucks.

Evernight Island
Frequency: a couple times a week manually, daily with pet journey
Use your lionheart scrolls in here to zoom through your 20s! Have a pet out to level them too!

Guild Base Quests (gbqs)
Frequency: 3-5 envelopes of 4 quests each (depends on level)
This is just one of the many benefits to being in a guild. These quests go fast (I have completed 20 of them in less than 10 mins quite a few times)

Guild Campfires (CF)
Frequency: you can get exp from these for 20mins daily (buffs may be effective more often than once a day.)
If you can get into a party that has additional buffs for exp, you may just cruise through a level.
You can buy buffs from the Garden Assistant and the Tavern Assistant. You can also fish them up in base if you have level 5+ fishing and use a lure from the Fishing Assistant.

Guild Exorcism (Exo)
Frequency: multiple entries, only get reward quests once.
These events last about 30 mins to an hour but provide massive exp. You get a set amount of exp to gather each week and can gather it across more than one exo, but you can only get the quest rewards once per week.

Rio Quests
Frequency: daily
Little known fact that Rio's perfume quest gives tons of exp!

Nightfall Dailies
Frequency: daily
There are 3 of these: Run Boy Run (also known as Hanks/Running with Hanks),  Nightfall Secrets, and Watch Rotation. Each gives good exp. Hanks has a very rare chance of rewarding you with a divine token (bound) if you do it manually. Watch Rotation has a pretty good chance of rewarding you with a spy that will drop a soul token (unbound) when you kill it. Nightfall Secrets gives the most exp of the three.

Extermination Orders
Frequency: 15 daily (unlimited with Infinite Extermination Orders items)
Get these from Melinda. Use a party to kill faster and get more pts. The twisted versions give even higher exp.

Dangerous Bounties
Frequency: 5 daily
You will need to party with a higher level doing their bounties. The dangerous bounty will give them extra soul power, exp, and mentor pts. You get lots of exp.

Phoenix Orders
Frequency: 7 weekly
These can be very time consuming and difficult unless you get into a party. Pair these with the extermination orders (15 daily) for even more exp.

Master/Apprentice Quests
Frequency: One quest every 10 levels 30-50
Although it is not critical to get a master early on, these quests are quick and give very nice exp. You can also get meditation books that will give you exp when you read them.

Training Grounds
Frequency: 12 hours daily for each union
Your character can even get exp while you are not playing. If you stay logged in and park them in the training area with the training ground quest, they will get a nice chunk of exp for just standing around. Use a meditation book that you can purchase from your rep agent and you get 2x the rep pts plus a bunch of memory lotuses. Use memory lotuses and berries for even more exp!

Pet Journeys
Frequency: 10+ daily
As soon as you are 45, start using pet journeys! I highly recommend paying the gold to open the additional journey slot. You should have enough gold by then from instance rolls if you save up. These let you run multiple quests at the same time! Plus, some of these quests give better exp and gifts than if you run them yourself. Do the ones that are also guild affairs quests or Luck quests for even more exp!

Dedication Rewards
Frequency: variable
You can get a chunk of exp every week from the dwarf across from Henry for reaching 80 dedication. You can also pick up exp books from Shylia Market in the Dedication tab for having a certain amount of dedication. You can see the quests and instances that will give you exp by hitting the How do I get Dedication button at the bottom of the Dedication menu in Shylia Market.

Glory
Frequency: variable
When you do instances in which a party member uses a recruit/elimination order, you get glory pts. These pts open rewards in Shylia Market under the Gem Light tab (it's called this because Forsaken World swapped things around in Shylia without changing the tab titles...). The rewards cost mentor pts, but many are well worth it. One of the rewards is exp books. No longer available.

Crucible
Frequency: Once per day
There are two quests to get: Petals and Seals. Both are daily.
At level 60 you can start doing the petal quest daily. The petal quest gives a huge chunk of exp and is very easy. Pick petals in a party to make it go faster. The quest says to bring back 80 - but you will get bonus exp for every 10 you collect past 80 - the max is 160.
At level 70 you can do the seals quest. If your guild opens the bonus and you get your quests within the 10 mins following, you will get an additional bonus exp/sp when you turn it in.
Also in Crucible, you can collect the fel irradiate ores (if you are lucky enough and fast enough). These give a big chunk of exp and sp when you turn them in to Ariel. You can turn in 10 per day.

Invasion
Frequency: unlimited/7x per week per variation for boss reward
At level 70 you can start doing invasion. This mob-killing instance is on Butterfly Island, 3-6 party, and manual entry only. It starts running at 13:00 and the npcs stay up for 30 mins. The schedule for these npcs is in the Calendar menu (U). Although each has pretty good exp, one is actually for exp - mer-creatures. Save your boss rewards (the little present boxes that pop into your bag after killing the boss - provided you killed ALL mobs FIRST) until you have 145 ded for bonus rewards! The boxes contain cards that give you a lot of exp.

Altar of Time
Frequency: unlimited
This event shows up periodically across Nightfall. Pick up a time from the clock and give it to the altar. It will tell you if you are right, if it is too long or if it is too short. Once you give it the correct time, you will get a bunch of exp and soul gold.

Random Concert
Frequency: one concert by each performer each day

The concert location, performer, and realm is announced by the system in world chat. Go to the location, listen to the whole song and cheer at the end using the encourage action to get a hug chunk of exp.

Lost City
Frequency: daily at 22:00-22:30
You can just go in there and sit for very nice exp! But there are also things you can collect that are nice too - but the collection is very competitive.

Rift Reward Banquet
Frequency: weekly and only if your guild participated in rift - win or lose.
Note: this banquet is open to all 50+ in the guild whether you went to rift or not
Once you collect your reward from the waiter, you get very good exp for 10 mins.

Charlie's Quests
Frequency: daily

The daily quests Charlie gives offer a lot of exp and stories for your Tavern collection.

Vengeance Quests
Frequency: daily
These quests can help level you up fast, give you war god pts for killing the bosses, and level up your vengeance rank for neat stuff.

Daily Challenge
Frequency: daily
Henry has a daily quest called Challenge. Complete what he asks you to do and turn his quest in to him for goodies and a chunk of exp. The quest he asks you to do is to complete a gear dungeon of your level - sometimes higher than your level, but that's a bug. If you get the bugged quest, try the instance of your level and see if it completes anyway.

Gear Improvement : Gems

Once you have fortified your gear enough to open up gem sockets, you may want to put some gems in to increase your stats even more.

Getting gems

There are a variety of ways to get free gems in the game:
  • Glistening Lowlands (GL)
  • Prayer
  • Guild base quests - your first envelope each day will give you a gem box
  • Check-in quest
  • Attendance box
  • Guild chest
  • God's trial mini-bosses (random showing)
  • Dedication rewards in Shylia Market
  • Glory rewards in Shylia Market
  • Achievement rewards via Masha
  • Eyrda Rewards (Forsaken World webpage under Community tab)
  • Token Shop (Forsaken World webpage under Community tab)
  • Trading with players
  • Turn in Jade Gold to Lawrence (each guild base quest envelope gives you a number of jade gold based on your gem collection level and you get jade gold from GL - you do need to have learned gem collection from Lawrence to get the jade gold. You need to have 300 fealty to get your level 1 skill and you level up the skill by collecting more fealty)

Choosing Gems

Each piece of gear can be fortified to open a total of four gem sockets.
Each socket will take any level gem.
Each socket in a piece of gear must contain a different type of gem.
Because you will have a limited number of sockets and some gems can only go into specific pieces, you will need to choose carefully what gems you will use where.
Another thing to keep in mind is that some of these stats can be picked up through the vice/virtue tree, so if you only need a little, you might just want to pick it up there and save the socket for something more useful.

Solarflare I
Embeddable into all gear
Embedding Effect: +10 Defense

Azurecloud I
Embeddable into all gear
Embedding Effect: +150 Mana

Bloodstone I
Embeddable into all gear
Embedding Effect: +150 Health

Ragefire I
Embeddable into all gear
Embedding Effect: +30 Attack

Eagle-Eye I
Embeddable into: Weapon, Hands, Shoulders, Head
Embedding Effect: +6 Accuracy

Shattershard I
Embeddable into: Weapon, Hands, Shoulders, Head
Embedding Effect: +5% Crit Damage

Mistshroud I
Embeddable into: Chest, Waist, Legs, Feet
Embedding Effect: +3 Evasion

Crystalline I
Embeddable into: Chest, Waist, Legs, Feet
Embedding Effect: +5% Crit Defense

Twilight I
Embeddable into: Chest, Feet
Embedding Effect: +1% Crit Dodge

Goldspark I
Embeddable into: Weapon, Head
Embedding Effect: +1% Crit Chance

The most exclusive and elusive gems are goldspark and twilight. Pretty much everyone could use goldspark, so plan to have a socket in your weapon and head reserved for this gem.

A good way to plan for gems is to take the following diagram that shows all the potential gems for each piece of gear:
...cross off the ones that you know you will NOT want and circle the ones you DO want...

...and then choose from the remaining gems for each piece.
As you can see, this makes it obvious for certain pieces what you want to choose - the chest and waist are left with only 4 gems after crossing off the ones that I don't want, so I know that these will be the four that will eventually be in these pieces for me. If I know that I will only want 2 solarflare altogether, then I can cross the remaining solarflare off the other pieces of gear, making my choices for these pieces even easier.

New Things Coming To Forsaken World

There are hints at some new content coming to Forsaken World.

[the following is from Forsaken World website]

One thousand years ago, Shylia sealed away the forces of evil who stole their way in to Eyrda. Time, as well as the machinations of the evil hordes from hell, has eroded the magic keeping these seals in place. Adventurers are called upon to travel to No Man’s Land and aid in the effort to reinforce this seal. Evil Wraiths and spirits haunt this land, as well as hungry flora that wish to consume you whole. Fight them off and you will be rewarded- but beware, death in this zone has a cost. While every adventurer aids the Lionheart Champions in bolstering the strength of the seals, beyond the sanctuary gates it's every adventurer for themselves.

Giant Gluttonous Flowers!

Elsewhere in Eyrda, Dark Dwarves are mining Cryolite Ore from the Crystal Rift. This ore is wondrous and powerful, and any unsanctioned mining is strictly prohibited. The Dark Dwarves mine on, in defiance of the laws against it. Deep inside the Dark Dwarves' Mine lurk evil creations such as Singh, the mighty golden construct. His armor is nearly impenetrable, and it will take strategy and cunning to defeat him. Deep inside the mine, evil awaits any foolish enough to delve into it's depths.

Super-heated armor!

Do you have what it takes to prevent the legions of hell from spilling out into our world? Will you bring justice to the ore-poaching dwarves? Prepare yourselves, and stay tuned for more information about this exciting update!

Template Changes

I'm going to be messing around with the template over the next week to address some concerns over the readability of the page. Although the old page looked really nice, it was a bit too hard to read for some. So bear with me as we undergo this construction.

Jobs

Getting jobs

Jobs/occupations are different from class. Any of the jobs can be taken up by any race or class. They are great to have as they can help you finish quests, make items that would otherwise cost soul or trade gold, and some of these items can even be sold for trade gold to other players.

You will get job points as you complete your main quest line. There are a total of 6 job points that you can get for your character and a total of 12 jobs that require the use of these points:
Botany
Alchemy
Chef
Fishing
Mining
Artisan (requires mining products)
Archanist (not yet available)
Tamer
Scavenger
Weaponsmith (requires mining and scavenger products)
Armorsmith (requires mining and scavenger products)
Jewelcrafter (requires mining products)

You will need to decide which jobs to choose, since you obviously can not have all the jobs. The jobs that are good for pretty much all players to have are botany, alchemy, chef, fishing, and mining.  These five jobs come up often in quests and provide everyday, useful items. The items you can gather or make using these jobs can also make you a little bit of trade gold.

Of the other jobs that you can get with your points, only 2 do not require items from another job: tamer and scavenger.

Tamer is a good job to have. People pay well for good pets, and everyone needs pets. Although everyone does get the soul catching skill for free, they can not level beyond the basic without the tamer job. Jewelcrafter and Artisan are two other good jobs to have to have, as necklaces, rings and offhands can not be picked up as drops in instances like armor can be; however are nonetheless extremely useful and desirable.

There are three jobs that everyone gets and do not require points:
Socialite
Adventurer
Merchant

Leveling Jobs

You level the jobs by using the job.To use the job, you will need to pick up tools from the tutor:
Botany (Daise): spade, custom spade for lv5+ available at guild garden assistant
Alchemy (Luia): recipes, ingredients, lv5+ ingredients available at guild supply agent and alchemy assistant
Chef (Michel): recipes, ingredients, lv5+ ingredients available at guild supply agent and bartender
Fishing (Neiven, Dotora): fishing pole, recipes
Mining (Hegen): pick, custom pick for lv4+ available at guild geology society

Each level will require a certain number of usage pts. For most jobs you get 2 pts for each thing you do at the level you are currently at and 1 pt for anything you do at the level immediately preceding your current level. For instance, if you are a level 3 botanist, you will earn 2pts for every lv3 plant you collect and 1pt for every lv2 plant you collect. You will receive no pts for any lv1 plant.

Once you reach your level max pts, you will need to visit the appropriate job tutor to learn the next level.

Some jobs have levels that do not come available until you are level 80: alchemy and chef are two of them. Once you reach 80, the tutors will have these levels available.

Fishing

Leveling fishing is easy - they give you auto-fish!! So all you have to do is make sure you have enough spaces in your bag for every type of thing you might catch at a spot, set your character to auto-fish, and come back later. So simple.

Neiven seems to quit teaching levels for fishing at lv6 - but I have gotten two suggestions from two threads. One says that after 6 you can only get exp using the special bait when you fish - it also says that you can only get it when fishing in base without any bait, so who knows? The other says that you can further your levels by talking to the traveling merchant in Lunagrant Woodland -- the guy with the camel that needs help being protected from thieves as he completes his delivery. I haven't tried either of these, so not sure if they work. I will update this post when I do find out.

Here and here are posts about special bait.
And here is a forum about why we can not level above 6.

Chef

To level chef quickly, use the auto-fish skill. Fish whenever your energy replenishes and make food and drink with the fish. You should be able to do this with all levels of chef. It practically levels itself.

To make Lv5 and Lv6 items, you will need to be a member of a guild with a Lv1 Tavern.
To make Lv7 items, you will need to be a member of a guild with a Lv2 Tavern, and be level 80.

Botany and Mining

These are not easy ones to level. What I have done is just find some time when I want to relax, get a route, collect, realm hop, and collect some more. Even at the higher levels where the items are few and far between, I can usually get 100+ mats in about an hour.

Another tactic is to collect every time you are doing guild base quests. This will take longer, but is easier since you are completing two tasks at once. Also, the materials replenish faster than outside of base.

To collect Lv5 and Lv6 botany materials, you will need to be a member of a guild with Lv1 Garden.
To collect Lv7 botany material, you will need to be a member of a guild with Lv 2 Garden and be level 80.
To collect Lv4 and Lv5 ores, you will need to be a member of a guild with Lv1 Geology Association.
To collect Lv6 ores, you will need to be a member of a guild with Lv2 Geology Association.

Note: While leveling your botany from Lv1 to Lv2, you may want to hang onto about 100 wild roses. You will be asked to make a red rose for one quest from an npc in District 9, and ten red roses to complete the tavern quest in Nightfall. Plus there is an achievement for making 11 red roses.

Midas Touch

This is one of the few ways to make trade gold in the game, so it is worth a try. Plus, it is rather easy. It's only downside is that one of the items necessary to complete it must be purchased with trade gold or Eyrda leaves.

Midas Touch quest can be taken from Christopher, the same npc in FH that gives you the trade run quest. He will have 3 quests each day for you. You must have both a Mercury Statue and an Alchemy Proxy for each of these quests. You can get the statues from AH, a player shop, or buying them from Eyrda Boutique. The alchemy proxy can be obtained from Lawrence or by hitting G. You will need guild merit to pick up these proxies.

For each quest that you complete, you will get one Mercury Revelation that can be read to directly receive a reward, or you can save a few of these and trade them in for something else to get a possibly larger reward. In order to exchange the mercury coupons that you receive from this quest for gold, you must have mercury reputation points. You can get these points by completing trade runs.

The first quest is simply to deliver a package to an npc in FH in a given period of time. If you get in your flying mount and accelerate through the whole delivery, you will easily complete this task.

The second quest is gathering materials. It is basically the same as the first quest, but instead of delivering something to an npc, you are getting something from them. Again, flying mount on acceleration should make this a breeze.

The last one is the catalyst quest. Go to Twilight Town. Directly behind the trackstone you will find an alchemy tutor that will have a quest for you. There are three items on the table in front of him. He will ask you to put three things into the cauldron. All you need to do is put whatever the npc tells you to into the cauldron in the given amount of time then wait until the timer is done. While the golden catalyst is brewing, you will be able to pick up the residue as an extra reward. In exchange for the residue, the npc will give you a high level botany item - these usually sell well in AH if you are not interested in making anything with them. You need to complete this mix 2x to successfully complete this midas quest.

If you are still a little mystified, check out THIS guide.

Construction Complete! Taming Room Lv2

This construction is now complete! Calamari pets are now available from the pet manager :)

We can not start our next build until we reach 5k zeal; so please do as many development quests and guild quests as you can!

Construction Complete! Architect Society Lv2

This building is now complete! This building reduces the cost of future builds as well as adding to a variety of guild points.

We can not start a new build at this time as the builds that we have left require more economy or zeal than we have at the moment. We are pretty close to having the zeal we need, so if we work hard, we should be building again either tonight or tomorrow.

Keep up the good work doing those guild quests!

Weekly Event: Eternal Belief

Day: Tuesday
Time: 20:00 - 22:30
Level: 10+
Required/recommended items:
Location: various locations

Eternal Belief (EB) is the Tuesday weekly event. It can be done at a variety of levels and can be completed solo, although a party is highly recommended (depending on the end area you choose, it may create a lot of scorn if you solo).

There are three stages to this event. Breaking the seal, killing the enchanted mobs that appear once the seal is broken, and killing the boss that comes once you have killed your mobs. Since the boss is one per server and certain guilds monopolize this boss, for our purposes, the quest is just two stages.

Stage 1: Breaking the Seal

Visit Vassily in FH. He will give you a quest to help break the seal that has been put over the land. Vassily's buddy will also look like he has a quest for you, however, you will not actually be able to pick up this quest until the seal is broken.

To break this seal you must kill mobs near your level or higher. As you kill these mobs, an item will appear in your bag called an oracle. Read these as you get them - it can help to put them in your quick-bar so that you can see when they show up without having your bag open constantly (I do the same for the souls in HR - works marvelously!).

Good things to do while breaking the seal include GT, GT2, LCS, your level fissure, Dragon Orders, Phoenix Order, Bounties --- pretty much anything that you will be killing a large amount of mobs of the level appropriate to you. And although you can skip the oracle part of this event and just help others open it, or just wait until it has been open and move on to stage 2, those oracles give you lots of exp and the more people opening the oracles means the more people that can get through stage 2.

Stage 2: Killing the Enchanted Mobs

This is where it gets a bit tricky, so be sure to read thoroughly and follow the directions.

There will be an announcement in wc when the seal breaks. This announcement is hard to catch, so one way to to see when it is time is to periodically check back in with Vassily's friend Sheaton or the area npc Milanna to see if his quest is available yet. Once Milanna pops up, enough oracles have been read and the quest is available. If you are at Sheaton, just keep checking to see if he has a quest for you. He will offer you a choice of where you would like to help out - as these mobs are all over Forsaken World. You want the one that will bring you to Milanna if possible.

Choose [69] Jadegloss Lake if you would like a massive amount of wineglasses as your reward.
Update 07/16/2013: I did some experimenting and it seems that any of the Enchanted Vines quests will work for the wineglasses.

The basic steps here are:
  • Take the quest from Vassily's friend Sheaton.
  • Auto-route to the location
  • Do not take the quest from the npc you find there
  • Check to see how many parties are waiting ahead of you
  • Multiply this by 30mins and add this to the time left on the active party
  • This total will be the amount of time you will have to wait before taking the quest
  • If you will still have time to start your quest before the quest closes, stay put and wait your turn
  • If you will not have enough time, realm hop to find a less crowded realm
  • Until it is your turn, do not take the quests or kill anything -- just wait
  • Once it is your turn, you may take the quest from the npc
  • You must take the quest before the event entry ends (22:30)
  • Once you take the quest, you will have 30 minutes to kill as many enchanted vines as you can
  • For every enchanted vine your party kills, you get a wineglass!
  • Be sure to turn in the quest before the timer is up
  • Do not turn in this quest right away - once it is turned in, you are done for the week
  • You can not get this quest again if it times out, is abandoned, or turned in too soon
  • And you only get your reward if you turn in before it times out - similar to the Balloon Bonanza.

If you choose the location with the vines, you really should be in a party. This is the most popular spot, for obvious reasons, and you might get a scolding by others and most likely, your place in line will be not be honored. However, you can show up solo and see if you can jump into a party that is already there.

Also, holders are honored by most players, so have one of your party hold a spot while the remaining party completes the oracle portion. Once one member maxes on oracles, have them switch with the holder so that they can get oracles as well.

Note: anyone lv 69+ can pick up the second part of the quest from Milanna directly, so no need to run back to Freedom Harbor to talk to Sheaton.  If your char is under lv 69, you will need to go back to FH to take whichever enchanted vine quest that Sheaton may be offering you. (I had a lv 62 bard that got a [62]Jadegloss Lake enchanted vine quest and it gave wineglasses too.)

Stage 3: Boss

As I said before, this boss is going to most likely be long dead by the time you are finished with stage 2. You can use the teleport device in your bag to get to the location, but you will most likely never find the boss.

But - WINEGLASSES
