Getting Gear
New gear can be gotten from the following places:- general mob drops
shard exchangeLionheart Badge exchangeShylia MarketYou get an epic/upgradeable weapon from completing Lionheart Camp training- world boss drops
- certain instance runs
- auction house
- some npc shops
- player shops
- Nightmare Carnival trade
- Race rep trade
- Someone in Citadel takes token trades for gear
- pvp arena trade
- completing main story quests
- making it yourself with the correct jobs
- asking your guildies :)
A good easy place to get some decent gear is through the Lionheart badge exchange. You can get the badges from the basic gear instance group. This is set gear and is upgradeable all the way up to max level - so a great set of gear to have! Make sure to fortify your badge gear to max fortification before upgrading or transferring, since the lower level mats for fortification are easier to get, the gear is easier to fortify, AND the soul gold cost to fortify is much less for this lower level gear.
The badge gear will get you by to about level 70 - at that time, try to get upgraded to hero 1 or 2. Upgrading to those costs wargod pts which you can get from queue-rolls at the end of medium gear instances and advanced gear instances. You can also get wargod pts from completing the weekly dragon tower events, and from wargod badges that you get from world bosses and Lost City nightly event. And of course, you can get wargod pts from completing the Sunday wargod event in FF.
Gear instances drop some fabulous gear - if you can get it. Many times the higher levels get all the good stuff anyway. Gear instances include:
Fort Rotulor - lv15-20 gearEmperor's Canyon - lv20s gear- Lost Lighthouse - lv30s gear
Arena of Souls - lv40s gear- Welkin Castle - lv50s gear
- Outer Ancestral Catacombs - lv60s gear
- Ancestral Catacombs - lv65 gear
- Forgotten Prison - lv70 gear
- Aeon Spire - lv75 gear
- Tomb of Kings -lv 75 gear
- dragon tower drops hero 2
- Molten Inferno drops hero 3
- ToD drops hero 4
- FHoF drops hero 4
PvP Arena has some of the best gear, but there is a catch 22 - you have to be good to get the things that you can exchange for the gear, and you want the gear so that you can be good.
Many times your higher level guildies have extra low level gear lying around. Check in with them to see if they have anything that they could give to you - for the good of the guild :)
