Dedication

Dedication is one of the many types of points that you can earn in the game. These points reset at weekly reset, so if you need them for anything, you will have to make sure that you earn them and make use of them before server time 00:00 at the end of Sunday night.

Uses:

  • Opens up rewards each week in Shylia's Market. Go to the Dedication tab. Each of the awards will open for you to take as you earn the necessary dedication points. There are some pretty valuable things available, so make sure you rack up those points and take your rewards before reset! Taking the rewards does not lower your dedication count, so feel free to take the rewards as you open them.

  • Requirement to become leader of Ghostfang Castle. You need to have 60 dedication points to get the quest from Bill in Nightfall Citadel that will allow you to lead a party in the Ghostfang Castle instance. This instance gives you lv2 runes - but the leader gets two! And being a leader for this instance is a requirement for leveling your vice/virtue.

  • Completes an achievement. You will notice right away in the game that Henry gives you quests that ask you to reach a certain level of dedication. The max for this quest is 200. Which may sound impossible; but, although not easy, can be done.

Ways to get it:

Henry will offer you 1pt per quest for the first 10-30 quests a day (30 if you haven't done them in a while), with a total of at least 70 dedication every week via his quests. I actually have gotten more than this from his quests a couple times. [70-90/wk]

Arena Competition will give you 2pts per run for the first XX runs. Some people get 2 some get 3, not sure why the difference. I personally got 3pts for each of two back-to-back runs one day. [XX/wk]

Nightfall Dailies 1pt each, up to 7pts per week via the Nightfall dailies. [7/wk]

Quell the Elements will give you 1pt for each one you personally complete. I was in my 70s and did the SoO one and still got dedication for it. [??/wk]

Dragon/Phoenix Orders will give you 2pts for each one you complete. You can do up to 7 each week. [14/wk]

Guild Base Quests give you 2pts for the finishing the first set of four quests each day. [14/wk if in a guild with a base]

Gear Instances for your level will give you 1pt for each first run daily. [??/wk]

God's Trial gives you 2pts per personally completed instance daily. [14/wk]

God's Trial 2 gives you 2pts per personally completed instance daily. [14/wk]

Nightmare Carnival gives you 1pt each. [3/wk]

Advanced Nightmare Carnival gives you 1pt each and you can run it 3x per week. [3/wk]

Glistening Lowlands will give you 2pts for each run. [14/wk]

Luck Quests give you 2pts for each you complete. You can do up to 5 per day. [70/wk]

Creekbank Valley / Immortal Pool (level appropriate) will give you 1pt per completed run and you can run it 3x per day. [21/wk]

Wade's Fishing Hole gives 1pt per completed run. [??/wk]

Advanced Training will give you 1pt for the first hour completed. [7/wk]

Weekly Arena Quests from Powell: Enter Arena 10x, Win 3 Matches, Make 3 Kills, Collect 3 Ears -- each will give you 8pts upon completion. [32/wk]

Rift will give you 15pts just for participating to the end. Now even those without a guild base can join in rift. [15/wk]

Exorcism will give you 8pts for completion. [8/wk]

World Events: Fort Khoaway, Eternal Belief, Hunting Festival, Light of Sage, Werewolf Invasion, Water Wheel Emergency, Mercury Summit -- each will give you 2pts. [14/wk]

Astral Shine: gives up to 20pts per week. [20/wk]

So as you can see you have a possibility of over 300pts each week if you complete everything on this list - -not that you'll be able to do that many in a week. 200 pts is hard enough! Luckily you only have to do 200 in a week once for the achievement; and the best reward from Shylia comes from 145pts - STAR CRYSTAL! With this many options for points, you should be able to get that Star Crystal easy :)
At 240 ded, you get 300 soul leaves which is also very nice.
