There is a new event npc with a daily quest!

She tells you Shylia is coming to Nightfall and asks you to get flowers as an offering to Shylia. The quest sends you to the Land of Origination to talk to Flower Fairy.

The Flower Fairy asks you to pick some flowers.

The first quest asks for 10 Moonlight Roses. They are in the area right around the Flower Fairy.

As soon as you collect all 10, the quest goes on to the next step - collect 10 Golden Dream. There is an autoroute in the quest that brings you to some fairies. Kill them to get the Golden Dreams they drop.

As soon as you collect all 10, the quest advances to asking you to gather 10 Darkpurple Orchid. These are in the water next to the fairies.

Once you collect all those the quest looks like it goes back to the original quest she gave you. You don't have to start over, you have to collect the item that's in the second quest - astral powder from a shimmering star.

The autoroute stops on a tracstone in front of Twilight Hall. It's not a mistake; you fly up from there.

 Pick the shimmering star to get the astral powder; then talk to Iris, who is standing in front of the shimmering star display. Iris will give you the last ingredient - Rainbow Afterglow

Once you have all the items, bring them back to Flower Fairy. She will give you the flower that you will present to Shylia.

For completing this quest, you get the following:

Born of Terror: Choke Crystal

Capra in the Sleeping Jungle gives you this sub-quest. And it can be quite confusing if you don't pay attention to what Capra says before you take the quest. But who has time to read?

Born of Terror quest tells you to go into the Water Prison and kill the Demon to retrieve the Choke Crystal for Capra. The only way you can currently get into the Water Prison is with a party consisting of a majority of 60-69 (I believe that is the level). There can only be 2 chars with higher level than that. Cross your fingers and queue for random fissure. Good Luck!

 

 

Soulroot Quest

You get this quest from Cherry in Freedom Harbor. You can pick up the quest either in FHvengeance or the reg Freedom Harbor. There are autoroute links in the quests, but if you are in FHvengeance, they bring you to no one. And if you are in the reg Freedom Harbor they don't bring you anywhere!

You can go back to FHv every time you get a new npc you need to talk to, see the location, then go back to the reg FH to find the npc in that location. What a pain!

Although all of the npcs are in the reg Freedom Harbor map, the soulroot is in the FH Vengeance map. If you've done any of the Rebuild Freedom Harbor quests from Olliana, you'll recognize the soulroot as the narcissus grass.

That was it. I saw nothing else given to me for this quest. It's a real nice quest to do if you need exp and or sp. Otherwise, maybe skip it.

Valve Activation lv105 Main Quest

Somewhere in the 105 main questline you get a quest that asks you to locate and activate some valves. I wasn't paying great attention to the text, so it took me a bit to locate the building I vaguely remembered the npc talking about. Here's the building location:

Ghost Street Lv110 Main Quest

This quest gave me a bit of trouble. After a fairly straightforward quest progression of killing a series of things around the castle, the quest tells you to get the emblems from the undead soldiers in the Ghost. The autoroute brings you to the npc outside the Ghost Street castle, but she doesn't have anything for you but her usual daily quest.

I tried to pick the swords in the stones and kill the undead lieutenants (they are kind of like soldiers). I did this for 3 hours and only got 1 emblem. I thought back to what happened when I got it and remembered that an khaos undead had sneaked out of the castle to attack me during that time.

I went inside to see if the khaos undead were actually the mobs I needed.
Bingo!

Took me less than five minutes to get the remaining 10 emblems once I was killing the khaos undead.

Watch out, they are tough. I used single target attacks. You could use your soulforce, mine mostly just makes them mob me :S

Once you get all 10 emblems, you'll need to talk to Altorias again. He'll give you a new quest to kill the undead captain. You need to make a Rune Sword first by right clicking the Undead Sword.

This gives you an Undead Spell Sword.

You use this to summon the Undead Captain. Don't let his tiny bar fool you! He actually has lots of hp. And he hits hard, so bring a healer.

Fishing Titles

A couple people have asked me about the fishing title npc. Hemmer did make it out of the Freedom Harbor melee alive and is hanging out in Nightfall.

Someone in the forums said that you can still get the Glacier Essences for the Captain of the High Seas title (the comment was from Nov 2017) - but I have yet to get any. And we can't seem to find Dotora for the bait recipes - but, you might be able to find someone to make the bait for you (if you're on Storm server, and I'm available, I can make you a few!)
I know you can still get the Ocean Essences as I fished one recently. These are used for the achievement (see the achievement book, it's under Jobs/Fishing -or possibly Rosemason, I think).

We do still have the fishing tutor. He has the fish processing recipes and some fish recipes for food and drink. There is the one by the fountain in the square and one by the fountain in front of flying tutor (see the blue wings on the map).

Spring Festival - Kirin

Just outside the north gates of Nightfall a brightly colored kirin spawns at 10:30, 15:30, and 20:30 on two realms (3 & 4). He has a lot of health, and can hit somewhat hard, so you will want a raid for this one.

All drops are personal - no rolling, everyone gets rewards! Even if you're not in the raid that kills it, if you hit it once, you will get your reward: 10 kirin boxes and 25 dumpling fillings.

You can only get rewards once per day, so save the second kirin for the next group.


The dumpling fillings need to be brought to Michel to be cooked. The cooked ones can be eaten immediately since you don't get any buffs from them. They only have a shelf life of 2 days, so you might as well eat them all.

Each kirin box contains one of the following: flux token, dragon scale, dark amethyst scroll, contented miracle pouch, mysterious gold box (soul gold), 300 ode to guardian pts, 800 war god pts, soul gold
Each dumplings contains one of the following: soul gold, exp (I got 653304000 exp), 600k sp, mysterious gold box

Special note: some have said that this boss triggers a pvp environment, and some raids will ask you to watch your aoes. I have not experienced this, so I think it's hit and miss (no pun intended ;)
